M3D Conducts 3D Printing Training Session for Walled City Lahore Authority

In a collaboration with PhysLab at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), M3D hosted a two-week intensive 3D printing training session for the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA). The program, titled "From Idea to Reality," was tailored for architects, designers, and modelers keen to explore the world of additive manufacturing.

The training session offered participants an immersive experience, covering:

  1. Sketching & Design Thinking: Laying the creative foundation for 3D projects.
  2. Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM): Tailoring designs specifically for 3D printing.
  3. Slicing Techniques for FFF: Mastering the essential step of converting designs into print-ready files.
  4. Advanced 3D Printing Methods: Demonstrations of Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Stereolithography (SLA) for more complex projects.

Each module was designed to equip participants with practical skills and in-depth knowledge, setting the stage for future innovations in design and fabrication.

The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests, like Mr. Kamran Lashari, Director WCLA and Dr. Muhammad Sabieh Anwar, Professor of Physics, LUMS. Mr. Lashari's participation underscored his commitment to preserving and revitalizing Lahore's culture heritage through modern technology. At the end of the sessions, Dr. Anwar presented three M3D Enabler printers to Mr. Lashari, symbol a new chapter in the fusion of science and cultural heritage. The certificate distribution ceremony marked a pivotal moment, celebrating the successful completion of the course and the beginning of a collaborative journey between technology and the preservation of historical legacy.

By integrating advanced 3D printing techniques with design education, the training session showcased how additive manufacturing can be a transformative tool—not only for creative industries but also for preserving and revitalizing cultural landmarks. The collaboration between M3D and WCLA highlights a vision where innovation supports and enhances cultural heritage.
